Panay Island hit by the BHP

Three Provinces of Panay Island was attacked by the pesticides called brown plant hoppers (BHP) or locally known as waya-waya. It is with more than 2,700 hectares of crops are already affected. The Department of Agriculture reported that 4.6 percent of the entire 58,000 hectares planted in rice are already damaged by the rice infestation that has 4,800 metric tons of damages. The agricultural team said to the farmers to save their crops and they advised to use pesticide cabanate to kill the adult hoppers and the eggs in the plant.  There are also other municipalities are affected and damaged by this pesticide.
