October 25 is non-working holiday

On Thursday October 7, 2010 President Benigno ‘Noynoy’ Aquino III has declared that October 25 as a special non-working holiday. This is to give for the public to cast votes in the forthcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections. It is the people was given to participate the fullest opportunity and exercise their right to vote. The proclamation was signed by the Executive Secretary on October 6.

School on Maguindanao burned down

The mask men on October 10, 2010 night burned a primary school on Bongo Island, Parang Maguindanao. The chief of barangay said that it is the second time that the school was subjected to arson, last year the same school was torched by still unidentified men for unknown reason. The attackers fled on a motorbike and the chief of barangay think that it is related to the barangay elections. The mayor has ordered through investigations and sent fire investigators to the island. The chief of barangay said this to the unidentified men that have pity on the children; they have to right to education, do not destroy their future.
