Rains flood 28 villages in Negros Occidental

Three days of drenching rains caused flooding in 28 villages in Negros Occidental and forced hundreds families to flee their homes. There are 103 families were evacuated in Barangay Fabrica in Sagay City. The City mayor ordered a relief operation for the affected families who were evacuated to safer grounds. It also added the flooding happened when the high tide reached to 8.1 meters at 12:50 a.m. another high tide happened at 2 p.m. on same day. A low pressure area spotted 200 kilometers east of Borongon, Eastern Samar province. It also reminded the fishermen to avoid going out sea if the inclement weather continues and also alerted those living in the low-lying and coastal areas to immediately leave their respective area in case of flash floods.
