A councilor of barangay 22 was arrested by operatives of Police Station 1 for illegal drug charges at the Bacolod City Downtown area. The suspects was identified alias Toleloy, 33, of Rizal Lacson Street Barangay 22 Bacolod City. The suspect was arrested at about 9:50 p.m. by local policeman by virtue of warrant of arrest for violation of Section 11 of Republic Act 9165 or possession of illegal drugs issued of regional trial court Bacolod City with no bail recommended. The suspect was not around during the search but the police were able to recover marijuana bricks then. It said that the suspect is presently detained at the lock up cell of police station 1.
Eight people were nabbed after they were caught in the act stealing assorted items at Barangay 10. The arrested suspects were identified as 29 years old and 6minors, all are residents of Purok Magti-ayon, Barangay 10, Bacolod City. The suspects were nabbed around 3:30 a.m during the conduct of roving patrol at barangay 10, after they were caught in the act stealing the steel ladder and one piece of metal. The two adult are presently detained at the lock-up cell police station while the six minors were turned over to the Social Development Center.
On the other hand, a 24 year old rob suspect is now facing robbery charges after he victimized the call center agent in Barangay Sum-ag, Bacolod City. The suspect now is detained at the lock-up cell of the police station. The suspect victimized the 24 year old of Sta. Clara in Barangay Tabunan, Bago City, when the victim was eating at Raffy’s Sizzlera at Araneta Street, Bacolod. The suspect took her bag that contained wallet ID and bank cards and her cellular phone worth P5, 000 and fled. The suspect was arrested during the conduct of follow up operations of police station 9.
A 50 year old man was killed while eight were hurt after a multi-cab collided with a speeding ambulance in Bacolod City in Negros Occidental. The incident occurred at 12:30 a.m in Mansilingan village. Killed on the spot was a 50 year old man of Purok Torrrecampo in Cabug village in Bacolod City. The injured people were rushed to the hospital for treatment. The investigation showed that the multi-cab was heading east of Hernaez Extension near Bangga Arca when it collided with the approaching ambulance. The impact destroyed the rear of the ambulance while the multi-cab was wrecked. The driver of multi-cab said that he tried to evade the multi-cab when he saw it approaching but it was too late. He insisted his pace was not very fast.
A five year old died in a predawn fire that hit their boarding house in Bacolod City. The body of the victim was recovered from the remains of the boarding house at Alijis village in Bacolod City. The fire started at 3 a.m and was placed under control after more than hour. The initial investigation showed that the victim was a daughter of a police officer of the city’s police force. It is showed that the girl was trapped in the five door boarding house during the fire. The investigators are looking into claims that the fire may be stemmed from a electrical short circuit as there was a brownout in the area before the fire occurred. They estimated the damage to property at 1 million.
Four police trainers have been relieved over the alleged maltreatment of a police man in Negros Occidental province. The four are held at camp Aniceto Lacson in Victorias City over the alleged maltreatment of one of police officer 1 John Alfredo Maternal. The arrested suspect was identified as NitoGianan, of Purok Hervias III, Barangay Villamonte Bacolod City. The senior inspector said the suspect was nabbed at Purok Hervias III, Barangay Villamonte by the elements of police station 4 and the operatives of Bacolod City Police Office Squad Control Section. The suspect was caught in the act of soliciting bet money for jai alai. The police recovered from his possession and control of the suspect two pieces of tipster with codenamed NBA sports, betting stubs, a ball pen and P151 cash as bet money. The suspect is presently detained at police station4 prior to the filling of charges against him.
