Fire hits Parañaque building

A fire has damaged more than P1 million worth of property after it razed a four storey building in Parañaque City. A report said that the fire hit the building located at the corner of Baclaran and Tomas Claudio that houses members of the Philippine Airlines Employee’s Union (Palea). It was not yet clear on what the caused of the fire but some believed it was caused either by unattended appliances or overloading of electrical connections.

Baclaran hosts Christmas Fair

The Parañaque City is holding a Christmas Agro Industrial Fair in Baclaran, a place people visit to buy cheaper goods this yuletide season. The mayor said that the city government only collects P3, 000 for each stall. The mayor also said that only 600 small entrepreneurs are given chance to participate in the Christmas Agro Fair. He also said that the fair is held every year based on a city ordinance authorizing the city government of holding Christmas Agro-Industrial Fair along Redemptorist Road in Baclaran starting October 1 to January 6. To avoid the heavy traffic, instead of holding the fair along the traditional venue at Redemptorist Road it was transferred to different roads. These fairs provides opportunities for small entrepreneurs to generate income as well as give consumers in the city alternate good offers for their holiday shopping needs at affordable prices.
