1 dead; 19 hurt as bus falls off bridge in Antique

At least one person was killed while 19 others were injured when a passenger bus fell off a bridge in Patnongon town in Antique province. Reported that the Ceres bus was on its way to Iloilo province from Caticlan town in Aklan when it fell from a bridge. Driver claimed that the bus’ brakes failed. At least five passengers were seriously injured and had to undergo surgery. They were brought to a hospital for treatment. One of the passengers said that the bus was speeding shortly before the accident where it fell into a river 20 feet below the national highway. Some 40 passengers were on board the Ceres bus when it figured in the incident. The driver and the conductor were among the injured people.
Other bus accident
The accident came hours after at least 15 people were hurt when a minibus figured in an along the Manila Cavite Express way before dawn. A speeding bus crashed onto an acacia tree in Bicol killing some of its passengers.

3 bodies of students recovered in Antique

The bodies of three of the five students who were reported missing during the flooding in Santiago village in Antique province were found. The report said one of the bodies was found around 6 a.m while the two others were found in the days later. The families of the victims have blamed the teachers of the Santiago Elementary School as they allowed the students to go home amid strong river currents. The authorities are conducting search and retrieval operations to locate the two other missing students.

Three bodies recovered in Antique

Bodies of the three of the five students who are reported missing on September 16, 2010 during the flooding in Santiago village in Antique province were found. The families of the victims have blamed the teachers of the Santiago Elementary School as they allowed the children to go home with strong current of water in the river. The authorities are still conducting to search and retrieval operations to locate the other two students
